Return & Exchange Policy – Clucker Books

At Clucker Books, we want you to love every product you purchase from us. Whether it’s one of our comprehensive poultry guides or our new chicken-themed apparel, your satisfaction matters to us!

This policy covers returns and exchanges for all products sold on CluckerBooks.com. We’ve written it in plain English (no legal chicken scratch!) so you know exactly what to expect.


Our T-Shirts & Apparel (Print-on-Demand Products)

Our awesome chicken-themed t-shirts and apparel are created especially for you through our print-on-demand partner, Printify. This means each item is custom-made after you place your order. Because of this unique production process, we have some specific guidelines:

What We CAN Accept Returns For:

We absolutely stand behind the quality of our apparel! If your item arrives with any of these issues, we’ve got you covered:

Manufacturing defects (printing errors, misaligned designs, etc.)
Damaged products (tears, stains, holes that occurred during production or shipping)
Wrong item sent (you ordered a Large but received a Small, wrong color, etc.)
Quality issues (faded print, poor print quality, fabric defects)

What to do: Contact us within 30 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos showing the issue
  • A brief description of the problem

We’ll send you a replacement at no cost, or issue a full refund. The best part? You don’t even need to return the defective item!

What We CANNOT Accept Returns For:

Because each apparel item is custom-made just for you, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for:

Wrong size ordered (Please check our sizing charts carefully before ordering!)
Change of mind about color or design
Buyer’s remorse
Items washed or worn

Our Tip: We know sizing can be tricky! All our apparel listings include detailed size charts. When in doubt, measure a shirt you already love and compare it to our measurements. If you’re still unsure, reach out before ordering and we’ll help you pick the perfect size!


Our Books (Physical Products)

We take great care in packaging and shipping our books, but we understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned.

Books Can Be Returned If:

Damaged during shipping (bent covers, torn pages, water damage)
Manufacturing defect (missing pages, printing errors, binding issues)
Wrong book sent (you ordered Silkies but received Cochins)

Timeframe: Contact us within 30 days of delivery

Books CANNOT Be Returned If:

You changed your mind after reading part of the book
Normal wear from reading (slightly bent pages from use)
You bought the wrong title (Please read descriptions carefully!)


How to Request a Return or Exchange

If you’ve received a damaged or defective product, here’s what to do:

Step 1: Contact Us

  • Your order number (found in your confirmation email)
  • Photos clearly showing the issue
  • Brief description of the problem

Step 2: We’ll Review
We’ll review your request within 1-2 business days (usually faster!)

Step 3: Resolution
If approved, we’ll either:

  • Send you a free replacement, OR
  • Issue a full refund to your original payment method

Step 4: No Return Needed
For defective apparel, you don’t need to send the item back. Consider donating it to a local chicken rescue or using it as a coop rag!


Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed within:

  • 1-2 business days after approval
  • Funds typically appear in your account within 5-7 business days (depending on your bank)
  • You’ll receive an email confirmation when your refund is processed

Lost or Stolen Packages

We’re not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after they’ve been marked as “delivered” by the shipping carrier. However, we care about our customers and want to help!

What we can do:

  • Help you file a claim with the shipping carrier
  • Provide tracking information for your records
  • Offer a discount on a replacement order (at our discretion)

Prevention tip: Consider requiring a signature for delivery or using a secure delivery location if porch theft is common in your area.


Wrong Address Provided

If you provided an incorrect or incomplete shipping address and your package is returned to sender, we can:

  • Reship to the correct address (you’ll pay the shipping cost)
  • Issue a refund for the product cost only (original shipping is non-refundable)

Double-check that address! Most shipping issues stem from typos in addresses. Take an extra moment to verify before completing your order.


International Orders

All the same policies apply to our international customers! However, please note:

  • You may be responsible for customs fees, duties, or taxes in your country
  • These fees are NOT refundable
  • International return shipping (if required) may be at your expense

Questions?

“What if my shirt shrinks in the wash?”
Follow the care instructions on the label! We recommend washing inside-out in cold water and hanging to dry. Normal shrinkage from improper care isn’t covered, but manufacturing defects are!

“Can I exchange my book for a different title?”
We don’t offer direct exchanges, but you can return an eligible item for a refund and place a new order for the title you want.

“My shirt has a small printing imperfection. Can I return it?”
Yes! Even minor print defects qualify for a free replacement. We want you to love wearing your Clucker Books gear.

“How do I know my size?”
Check the detailed size chart on each product page. Measure a shirt you love and compare. Still unsure? Email us before ordering!
